Your Hosts
The Sex and Skinny tour is the brainchild of two very different people. Both are perfectly aware of their utter imperfection as human beings, and have tasted the grace that makes such a thing a gift to embrace. Here's a little bit about them...
Nate Larkin (The "Sex" Part)
Nate Larkin is the founder of The Samson Society, a fellowship of thousands of Christian men who are serious about authenticity, community, humility and recovery - serious, but not grave. Because of his own story - a story of addiction, loss and redemption - Larkin knows every man's heart combines sinner and saint, pirate and monk. Nate's journey, captured in his first book, Samson and the Pirate Monks: Calling Men to Authentic Brotherhood has become the trail guide for men's groups all over the world now meeting in community and building relationships through The Samson Society.
Each week Nate hosts the "Pirate Monk Podcast," which has grown to nearly 20,000 subscribers in less than a year, proving the hunger for the message of authenticity and grace he's become known for.
In 2009 Nate shared his story of pornography addiction and redemption for the I Am Second project, which features a mix of celebrities, innovators and communicators including Tony Dungy, Mike Huckabee, Darrell Waltrip, and Korn's Brian Welch. With more than 100,000 views so far, Nate's video has propelled him and The Samson Society to an ever-increasing audience.
A former pastor, Nate earned his M.Div. from Princeton Theological Seminary. He has been married for more than thirty years to Allie. Together they have three grown children and two grandchildren. Nate and Allie reside in Franklin, TN.

Rhodes' own story of brokenness and redemption includes themes of unhealthy attitudes toward "sex" and an obsession with "skinny" that led to more than a decade long battle wtih disordered eating. Eleven years of recovery and ministry later, Rhodes is excited to teach a truth she's now learning about what underlies both struggles, a third "s" which she shares about on the tour.
Rhodes is the author of Life Inside the Thin Cage: A Personal Look into the Hidden World of the Chronic Dieter and The Art of Being: Reflections on the Beauty and the Risk of Embracing Who We Are, as well as Finding Balance with Food: A Twelve-Week Guided Journey for small groups and individuals seeking a healthier relationship with food.
